A Report

"Catholic Press Month" extols the value of good reading material in the home and encourages Catholics to form a habit of Reading Bible and other good Catholic literature. 

As the mission entrusted to us by our Founder Bl. James Alberione, is also the same; to proclaim the Gospel through the Press and other means of Communication, we, the community of Bangalore, took advantage of this occasion and organized the celebration of Catholic Press Month, highlighting this theme, in St Patrick’s Parish, on Sunday, February 16, with the cooperation of Parish Team. They made announcement on 9th, one week prior to the actual day, and on 16th, informing the people of this and encouraging them to take advantage of this opportunity. On 16th, we displayed Bibles and many other Catholic Magazines and Literature, during all the 5 Masses in the morning.

We had also printed a book mark with the Prayer for Catholic Press from our prayer book, with the addresses and mobile numbers of all the three Book Centres, and distributed them to people for all Masses and requested father if we could pray this prayer for one Mass. Father made it a point to pray this prayer in all Masses before the announcements and people followed it from the book Mark which had been distributed. We had also given one-page matter on Catholic Press Month to the Parish Priest with copies made for all the priests who would celebrate the different Masses that day. 

We distributed also our Complimentary calendar with the addresses and mobile numbers of all Book Centres. People showed interest and collected Bibles and other books for them and their family. The whole community and two cooperators took turns to be present at the display. It was very fulfilling experience and a good publicity for all our Book Centres, as the book Mark and Calendar carried the addresses and contact numbers of all the Centres. 

On Sunday 23, we had a display in Pallotti Church for all the 7 Masses in the morning and evening. Here again the Parish team was very cooperative. The response was very good and we gave many Bibles and other books. There also we distributed Book Marks and Complimentary Calendar. 

We thank God for these opportunities. We are sure more people would come to our Centres in the future.
