Illuminaire a Conference,
Empowering Consecrated Life in the Digital Age
Illuminaire is a transformative conference carefully crafted for priests, religious, and those in consecrated life, with the aim to empower the participants to navigate the digital age effectively, leverage technology for the betterment of their ministries and the Church’s mission and understand its impact on one’s daily life.
This conference is primarily organized by the Social Communication Sector of the Salesians of Don Bosco and South Asian Salesian Social Communications Body (BOSCOM) in collaboration with the Vatican Dicastery for Communication, the Social Communications Department of the Catholic Bishops Conference of India (CBCI), Conference of Catholic Bishops of India (CCBI), Federation of Asian Bishops’ Conferences (FABC) and the Catholic Religious of India (CRI).
Dr. Paolo Ruffini, the Prefect of the Vatican Dicastery for Communication, officially inaugurated the Illuminaire. This marks the launch of the first-ever National Catholic Media Conference, organized by the Salesian Communication departments in Rome and India, in collaboration with the Vatican Dicastery for Communication and other national Church bodies in India.
The two-day event took place at St. John’s Medical College in Bengaluru, India. The conference, titled “ILLUMINAIRE: Nurturing Digital Stewardship in the Era of Artificial Intelligence,” is exclusively designed for priests, religious, and those in consecrated life.
Approximately 250 participants participated in ten sessions and six parallel workshops led by experts in the field. Special features of the conference included interactive media workshops, talks by international speakers, hands-on training, and opportunities for networking and collaboration.
Indeed We, the Daughters of St Paul were to see Sr Joeyanna FSP as one of keynote speaker on very first day, where she began her session highlighting her Founder Blessed James Alberione, who used media for the spread of the Gospel and it's value. Srs Shiji FSP, Abha FSP and Vencila Marshal fsp got the opportunity to take part in it. We are grateful to our Provincial Sr Matilda and Sr Lilly the animator of the community of Bangalore for availing this chance and allowing us to participate.
