Be a Champion for Life

Be a Champion for Life - Unlocking the Secret to Success

We are living in a fast-paced world where the youngsters can easily lose sight of their dreams and the potential that lies within them. This book will ignite the minds of every youngster who gets his/her hand on it to face challenges with courage and pursue their passion in life. Sr Clare has highlighted various topics such as having a dream, vision and plan, being optimistic and altruistic, cultivating love for the environment, being God-centered and empathetic among others. As you delve into the pages, you will find concepts of resilience and courage, and integrity are beautifully woven with meaningful quotes.

This book simply tells the readers that each one of us is called to be a Champion in our own unique way. Being a champion is not merely about winning, it's about self-growth, resilience and making a difference in society by becoming the person you are designed to be.

In the preface Sr Annie Ponmani FSP acknowledges that, In the introduction of this book, after quoting Dr Jerry Lynch, the author has stated: we are all champions in our own right. Applying this to the author I would say that it is very true. Sadly, the author, Sr Clare Ukken, left this world before this book was published. But fortunately, she has left us a legacy of championship by her life. In her we have the lived example of the championship she wrote about in the book.

She had desires and dreams many of which she fulfilled by pioneering many mission activities, such as production of audio albums in the remote parts of Africa in 1980s and opening a video library for people who had a television but nothing to watch. Every dream, every goal, no matter how small it is, needs the power of desire to fuel it. She had the vision, the motivation and the perseverance. The number of books she wrote could not have been written without this vision, motivation and perseverance. "If you don't have concrete goals and a plan to achieve them, chances are you won't get very far," she said. She was a sincere and integral person. She could as this with conviction and by example: If you say you're going to be there, be there. If you say you will do it, do it.

Altruistic people believe that the wellbeing of others s equally, if not more, important as the wellbeing or Survival of the self. It was this principle that led the author to spend her meagre savings and the gifts she received to distribute free Bibles to the prisoners.

Give of yourself-bone marrow, non-vital organs, whole blood and plasma-there are many such ways to Live the 'gift of life' to another in a morally acceptable manner. This is what the author says on Being Pro-life. To This end she has tried to do her best, even to the extent of donating her body. Unfortunately, the procedure was to be completed due to unforeseen formalities.

Be Environment-friendly has touched Sr Clare's lifelong. Her championing for Rainwater Harvesting and Generating Solar Energy, whenever we had a construction project on, can be added to the measures the has suggested to reduce our carbon footprints. All this would not be possible if she was not a People's arson who is God-centered.

Friends, this book is for you the Young. Of course, the Young have more time to practice and benefit from the Championship.
